• Expect to have some bleeding (may be bright red to brown) mixed with brownish black discharge. This is normal. This is the solution used during that colposcopy coming out.
  • Some women will pass a small clot several days to weeks after the colposcopy. This is the scab coming off of the cervix which is normal.
  • It is okay to take Tylenol or Motrin after the procedure for pain (as long as you are not allergic).
  • It is okay to use a heating pad.
  • No tampons, intercourse, or submersions in bodies of water ( tubs, pools, etc.) for one week after the procedure.
  • Your results will be back 10 days after the procedure. Our office will call you with the results and plan.
  • Your next period after the procedure may be heavier, have more clots and more cramping than prior cycles.
